My name is Jackie Duncan. I reside in Decatur, GA with my husband, Frank Duncan. I have a daughter, Kourtney Butcher, who lives in Atlanta, GA and she is the absolute joy of my life. I am employed with the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park where I’m currently the Guest Relations Manager. I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree with a concentration in Hospitality and Tourism Management. In 2014, I graduated from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Ga with a Certification in Theology and Pastoral Care. I began ministering in outreach initiatives for my Dekalb County community. For the past 18 years, I have worked diligently to provide others with food, clothing, and resources to help them become encouraged and empowered to live a better life. I am truly passionate about outreach initiatives that involve volunteering at local Food Banks and Clothing Drives. In 2021, I began collecting business attire to launch a Career Closet at my job. I spoke with Omni’s General Manager, and he approved a space for me to begin serving the Associates in my workplace. We have been operational since June 2022 and the Career Closet is thriving and growing. With the help of donations from the community, my Sister Circle, and purchasing items from local Thrift Stores, I am proud to say that this initiative has been birthed from love, commitment, and the willingness to serve others. Happy Love Ministries is not a business, it is my oath to God that I will continue to bless others as he has blessed me. I’m proud to say that I have helped mentor many people during my years living in Metro Atlanta. There’s so much more to do and I’m ready for the challenge. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful family and helping where needed in my community. I am a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia. I love reading, shopping, thrifting, traveling with my husband and spending quality time with my daughter. My favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11; “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
