Support: Women can be powerful allies for other women. This is fundamental to a human being's happiness, and for a woman, it can be an essential part of a balanced life. Oftentimes times other women are the necessary sounding board to get through personal or work-related struggles.

Educate: We are dedicated to nurturing growth by sharing best practices, co-creating solutions, running webinars and events to ensure Women in our sector are not held back and can progress their careers into senior leadership.

Leading The Way

Johnetta Johnson, The Founder

With over 23 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I have had the privilege to serve in various roles, including Guest Services Representative, Front Office Manager, Sales Manager, Director of Sales, Assistant General Manager, General Manager, and currently as an Operations Support Manager working remotely as Task Force. As the founder of Black Women of Hospitality, my mission is to support and uplift women of color in our field by providing resources, mentorship opportunities, and a platform for networking and collaboration.

Tawana Boyd-Hood, Member Engagement Director

Tawana is a seasoned hospitality professional with over 25 years of experience in hotel management, sales, and task force leadership, including hotel opening experience. Renowned for her ability to drive operational success, boost revenue, and develop high-performing teams, she excels in enhancing guest satisfaction and optimizing workflows. Tawana cultivates a vibrant community by moderating our Facebook group, fostering meaningful connections, and growing our engagement to support and strengthen our members.

Tangela Jordan, Director of Sales & Marketing

Tangela is a results-driven hospitality leader with 24 years of expertise in group sales, revenue growth, and hotel management. With a proven track record of driving strategic sales initiatives and building lasting client relationships, she has led teams across multiple cities, delivering exceptional results. A passionate mentor and industry innovator, Tangela combines market insight with operational excellence to maximize revenue, enhance guest experiences, and elevate brand success.
